primarily interested in portraiture, Sophie is a self-taught oil painter who began learning in the garage of her childhood home during covid lockdown. she began painting sitting in front of a mirror and began honing her eye into how much color is happening just beneath the surface of the skin and fell in love with finding play in it.

with a performing background of 10 years in improv comedy, her pieces follow her inner sense of fun. Her work cartoonishly highlights imperfections and oddities in western beauty standards Adding an “ugly twang” to her subjects.
